A letter from the Catholic Clergy of Strokestown to the Lord Lieutenant complaining that they had been removed from the Famine Relief Committe in the town.

Wilfred Stuart Atherstone Hales

A photograph of Wilfred Stuart Atherstone Hales in the uniform of the East Yorkshire Regiment, with which he served during World War 1. Known as Stuart Hales, he came to Ireland during the Irish War of Independence and was stationed at Strokestown. This is where he met Olive Pakenham Mahon. The couple were married in December 1921.
