Olive as Volunteer Nurse

Description:

Olive Pakenham Mahon in nurses uniform. During the First World War many women anxious to be involved in the war effort joined Voluntary Aid Detatchments. Their contribution to the war effort ranged from preparing packs for soldiers, to driving ambulances, to working in field hospitals in France.
